Professor Kazuhiro Sato (Setsunan University and Okayama University) was invited to SLU (Alnarp Campus, near Lund and Malmö) and UPSC (Umeå) and gave lectures in the collaborative seminar series “KVA-JSPS Seminar” organized by KVA and JSPS Stockholm. Professor Sato gave two exciting lectures with the titles “Genetic resources, molecular biology and plant breeding” and “Genome editing of seed dormancy genes in wheat and barley”. At both lectures, an information session about JSPS programs and alumni activities was also given by JSPS Stockholm. About 50 people participated in the lecture on August 30 and about 45 people came to the venue on September 4. The people who came and listened to the lectures actively participated in the seminar, and there were lively discussions on topics related to molecular biology, plant breeding, and genome editing of plants.
